So what does that say about how I practice?    Unlike the traditional picture of the silent psychotherapist, you will find that I am very interactive, and approach our work as a collaborative effort. Experiencing a relationship where you are heard, understood and unconditionally accepted is where much of the healing takes place.

Why did I train in psychoanalytic technique?    Because research has shown that talk therapy is effective. Most people feel stuck and frustrated when negative thoughts and feelings never seem to get any better. Talk therapy breaks that cycle by providing a skilled partner who hears you and knows how to change self-defeating patterns.

Is my style/training effective for your problem?   I will listen carefully to your reasons for seeking help and tailor our work to your specific needs. Beyond traditional psychotherapy I often incorporate other eclectic disciplines such as: life & career coaching, cognitive-behavioral tools, relaxation techniques, mindfulness practices.

What else about me may be helpful to you?    I have previously worked in corporate, as well as artistic and academic environments. I am well versed in the stress and pressures of a successful career, as well as in the challenge of finding one! This real-world perspective makes me particularly adept at helping my clients negotiate issues around work.

What is my philosophy when working with clients?    I see therapy not only as a means for healing, but also as a valuable opportunity – a unique chance to get to know yourself in a way that few of us ever do in our day-to-day interactions. Self-knowledge is a powerful tool, and understanding yourself more completely can lead to better choices and a happier more fulfilling life. Therapy is a catalyst for change - a change for the better.
